The short version
We collect as little as we can. We don't sell your personal information. We use analytics to see which pages people read, an ad server to show ads, and a form provider for our newsletter. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it.
This policy covers qrwear.org. It doesn't cover the websites we link to, including the sources in our headline feeds.
Information we collect
When you visit the site, our hosting server records standard log data: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. We use this to keep the site running and secure, and we don't use it to identify you.
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. If you sign up for our newsletter, the form provider receives the details you enter. We don't ask for medical, financial or identity information, and we ask you not to send it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. Qrwear itself doesn't need cookies to work. Some third-party services on the site set their own, as described below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still load and read normally.
Google Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers use the site, such as which articles are read and how people arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. We don't send Google your name or email. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies.
Advertising and Revive Adserver
Ads on Qrwear are delivered through Revive Adserver from servedby.revive-adserver.net. The ad server may set cookies or read device information to deliver ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and count impressions and clicks. Advertisers don't receive your contact details from us. Ads are never shown on our legal pages or our error page.
Newsletter form
Our newsletter signup is provided by a third-party form service (link.sphere-crm.com). When you submit the form, that provider stores what you enter and may set cookies to run the form. Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Headline feeds and links
Some pages show headlines from other publishers. Our own server fetches those feeds, so loading our pages doesn't send your data to those publishers. If you click a headline or any outside link, you're on their site and their privacy policy applies.
How long we keep data
Contact messages are kept for as long as we need to answer them and handle any follow-up, then deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security. Analytics and ad data are kept according to each provider's settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. Under the EU and UK GDPR, our legal bases are legitimate interests for running and securing the site, and consent where cookies require it.
California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, to delete and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell personal information. If an ad partner's use of cookies counts as sharing where you live, you can opt out by blocking third-party cookies or contacting us. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Children
Qrwear is written for adults and organizations. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Contact and changes
Questions or requests about privacy go through our contact page; choose General as the subject. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
